Tfhc   -

In the sixth sermon of the “When the Church Prays” series, our founding Lead Pastor, Terry Mahan, delivers an empowering message titled “Impossible Is Impossible.” Rooted in the theme scripture from Romans 15:30, Pastor Terry ignites a profound exploration of the limitless power of faith-infused prayer.

Starting with a thought-provoking quote borrowed from an Adidas advertisement, “Impossible is nothing,” Pastor Terry delves into the biblical perspective on impossibility. He underlines that to God, the word “impossible” holds no weight, and through faith, it should mean nothing to those who understand their identity in Christ.

Drawing inspiration from Ephesians 2:4-10, Pastor Terry Mahan reminds us of our union with Christ and our co-seated position in the heavenly realm. He asserts that nothing is impossible for God, and by extension, through faith, nothing is impossible for those who align themselves with Christ.

The sermon challenges the congregation to consider their “impossibly difficult” circumstances and change their perspective. Pastor Terry encourages them to remove the limits they’ve placed on their lives and embrace the concept that impossibilities are, in fact, opportunities in disguise.

Through compelling examples from the world of technology, architecture, and innovation, Pastor Terry illustrates the power of transcending the known solutions and knowledge to overcome “impossible” situations.

He further emphasizes the importance of inviting God into the equation, referencing Jeremiah 32:17, which declares that nothing is too hard for the Lord. Through this, he encourages the congregation to place their trust in God and invite Him into their challenges, recognizing that with God, nothing is impossible.

The sermon concludes with a call to trust and surrender, drawing inspiration from Jesus’ prayer in Gethsemane. Pastor Terry Mahan encourages the congregation to follow Jesus’ example of surrendering to the Father’s will, even in the face of seemingly insurmountable circumstances.

Pastor Terry leaves the congregation with a powerful challenge: to take their personal impossibilities and surrender them to the Specialist. He urges them to refuse to calculate, doubt, or worry, trusting in the sovereignty of the Lord over their circumstances.

As the sermon ends, the congregation departs with a renewed sense of faith and a commitment to embrace the truth that, in Jesus’ name, impossible is truly impossible.
