Sunday, July 26, 2020 | For Such a Time as This | Honor Delayed
Honor may be delayed, denied, but in God’s providence He finds the servant and says “Well done” (Heb. 6:10) When no one else notices, God marks it down, He rewards the faithful, consistent, – Mordecia never tried to get even.
In the final analysis, God will have His way. He’s not impressed with earthly kingdoms and personal towers, with pride and prestige and wealth and fame. He’s impressed with a humble heart that comes to Him on His terms. King asks Esther what is her petition? Redemption from the evil one is our victory not matter how long the process. God uses the team of Mordecia and Esther to redeem God’s people.
Life can be hard. Difficult times happen, and pain cannot be avoided. When life doesn’t make sense, do you turn to God or away from Him? Jesus called us “friends” ( John 15:15), and the Spirit is our “Helper” (14:26). Trust and obey, as Esther did. And watch God silently weave all events for His glory . . . and for our good.
No human being has anything for his own sake. No one can say, ”This is mine, and it is only for my use.” We are ”come to the kingdom” FOR OTHERS and FOR GOD.
