Katherine Spurgeon
Katherine was born and raised in Indiana where she earned her Master’s Degree in Library Science. She was the Library Director at 2 different Indiana public libraries and oversaw the construction of new library buildings at both of the libraries as well as an extensive renovation and addition to one of the buildings. Her management duties also included all of the financial responsibilities, a task that she thoroughly enjoyed.
Katherine and her husband David moved to Florida in 2003 where she once again worked in the library field as the Branch Manager at 3 different libraries in the Lake County Library System. David went home to be with the Lord in March 2010. Katherine worked 5 more years, retiring in 2015.
Before moving to Florida Katherine researched churches in the Leesburg area. God led her to The Father’s House after she listened to one of Pastor Terry’s sermons online. She attended her first service one week after arriving and immediately knew that she had found her church home. She volunteered to be an usher in 2004 and has served in that capacity ever since. She headed up the communion team for over 12 years.
Katherine’s love of finances prompted her to volunteer to be part of the church’s count team in 2016. ln 2017 she also began helping with additional financial matters and was asked to become a partÂtime member of the TFH staff in April 2018.
Being able to use one’s God-given talents is a blessing that Katherine thanks Him for every day. Being able to work with exceptional people on staff is an honor.
