Be-Attitudes
5:1-12

BLESSED: (MAKARIOS)

Happy, supremely blessed, fortunate, satisfaction of soul, fully and wholly satisfied in God, connected to God and having God live in you.

Blessed (happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the poor in spirit (the humble, who rate themselves insignificant), for theirs is the kingdom of heaven!  Matthew 5:3 (AMP)

1. ___________________ THE PROGRESSIVE PATTERN

3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who humbly recognize their dire ___________, for God will bring them into His Kingdom.

Confession: I recognize my spiritual bankruptcy and my need for God. I know I am incapable of earning God’s love on my own.

4 Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.

Blessed are those who mourn their ___________, for God will forgive them and restore them to the life He intended them to have.

Confession: I feel the pain of sin, including my own. I can weep over sin just like Jesus did.

5 Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who have their _____________, for they will inherit the earth.

Confession: I don’t have to be the strong one who is always in control. I can be tender and gentle. I’ve given control of my life to God and I don’t always have to win.

6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.

Blessed are those who are desperate_____________ for they will long for nothing.

Confession: I want to know God and His will for my life more than anything – including my own pleasure, status, or success. My heart truly longs for God.

7 Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are those who show _______________, for they understand the mercy that’s been shown to them.

Confession: I can share the feelings of people who are hurting, lonely or distressed, and walk alongside them in their pain. I have received mercy and I give mercy.

8 Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.

Blessed are those focus on the ___________________, for they shall see God.

Confession: I am completely honest with God and others. I don’t have to put on a false front or pretend to be something I’m not. My life is marked with openness and integrity.

9 Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.

Blessed are those who have ____________ peace and _______ peace to others, for they are the sons and daughters of God.

Confession: I work hard to keep channels of communication open with others. Rather than allowing anger and conflict to fester, I deal with them constructively.

10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.11 Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.

Blessed are you when you are persecuted when what you say and do are ____________ with what _________________.

Confession: I am willing to suffer and (if need be) stand alone for what is right. I can take criticism without reacting defensively or feeling self-pity.

12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Blessed are you who can rejoice in the _______________ in life, for you have found the true treasure.

Confession: I will remember this world is not my home, my reward is in heaven. I choose to Rejoice because I know Joy is not the absence of trouble but the presence of Jesus.
