Our Friend, the Holy Spirit

A  friend  loves  at  all  times,  and  a  brother  is  born  for  adversity.

1.  TO                        WE ARE NEVER                            

 15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, to be with you forever… John 14:15-16 (ESV)

He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive Him because it isn’t looking for Him and doesn’t recognize Him. But you know Him because He lives with you now and later will be in you. John 14:17 (NLT) 

Know Holy Spirit, know God. No Holy Spirit, no God!

But you are not like that. You are controlled by your new nature if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that if anyone doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ living in him, he is not a Christian at all.) Romans 8:9 (TLB)

2.  AS A REMINDER GOD IS AT                          ON OUR BEHALF

Also, the Spirit helps us. We are very weak, but the Spirit helps us with our weakness. We don’t know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself speaks to God for us. He begs God for us, speaking to Him with feelings too deep for words. Romans 8:26 (ERV) 

The Holy Spirit imparts life, gives hope, and teaches us all things.

1.  TO                    BOLDLY IN LIFE AND NOT IN              

 Fear and faith cannot exist together. One will devour the other. 

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) 

13 When they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were illiterate and uneducated men, they marveled. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus. 14 But seeing the man who was healed standing with them, they had nothing to say against it. Acts 4:13-14 (MEV) 

But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. Acts 4:19 (MEV) 

29 Now, Lord, look on their threats and grant that Your servants may speak Your word with great boldness, 30 by stretching out Your hand to heal and that signs and wonders may be performed in the name of Your holy Son Jesus.” 31 When they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken.
