Our Mission: Bringing Hope and Impacting Our Community by Leading People into a Growing Relationship with Jesus

S1E2 PEACE

“But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, He will l produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Here there is no conflict with the law.” Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT)

EXAMINE THE PICTURE OF GOD’S PEACE

25 I am telling you these things now while I am still with you. 26 But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative that is, the Holy Spirit He will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. 27 “I am leaving you with a gift peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. John 14:25-27 (NLT)

“Peace is not the absence of trouble but the presence of God” Oswald Sanders

  • Jesus as _________ brings peace with God
  • Jesus as __________ brings the peace of God

HOW DO WE KEEP PEACE IN OUR LIVES?

6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. 8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 8 Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:6-8 (NLT)

“He included everyone in His death so that everyone could also be included in His life, a resurrection life, a far better life than people ever lived on their own. Because of this decision we don’t evaluate people by what they have or how they look… Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it! All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and Him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other.” 2 Corinthians 5:15-18 (MSG)

[Jesus] “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to Me. Get away with Me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with Me and work with Me – watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with Me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)
