January 2 - October 4

God has directed us to 4 quarterly 3 day fasts for the year of 2023.
Jan 2-4
Apr 3-5
Jul 3-5
Oct 2-4

Each quarter, we will end the 3 day fast with communion and a Night of Worship at 7pm (1st Wednesday of each quarter)

The goal of fasting is to draw nearer to God. Biblical fasting always has to do with eliminating distractions for a spiritual purpose; it hits the reset button of our soul and renews us from the inside out. It also enables us to celebrate the goodness and mercy of God and prepares our hearts for all the good things God desires to bring into our lives.

Remember, your personal fast should present a level of challenge, but it is essential to know your body, options, and, most importantly, to seek God in prayer and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do.

Here are 6 suggested reasons why the spiritual discipline of fasting is needed today.

• More than ever before, believers need strength to stand against sin.

• Believers throughout the world need solutions to many complex problems and threatening situations.

• The Church is in desperate need of revival, and every tribe and tongue and nation is in desperate need of evangelization.

• The media has so captured national attention that even believers are operating according to principles completely alien to God’s will for their lives.

• Direction and vision for individual destinies.

• Power to break forth, in every area of life (Isaiah 58:8).

Do any of these reasons speak to needs in your life or that of TFH or our community? If so, God has chosen a discipline of fasting for you.

We encourage you to join us and begin fasting for spiritual breakthrough.

• Eat a normal, but not excessive, dinner at your regular dinnertime.
• Before bed, spend time reading Scripture.
(Suggested Scriptures to read: Psalm 1, Psalm 63, Luke 4).
• Spend some time praying asking God to increase your passion for Him. Confess any sins you know are hindering your relationship with God.
• Once you get in bed, pray until you fall asleep.

• Wake up at your normal time.
• Instead of eating breakfast, spend time with God. Read Philippians 2:1-11.
• Reflect on Christ’s sacrifice for you. Pray that God will enable you to have His attitude today.

During the hours when you are hungry, view those hunger pains as God nudging you to pray. Pray quietly throughout the morning, even during your regular routine. Engage your normal responsibilities but do so with an awareness of His grace.

During your lunch hour, remove yourself from the day-to-day rush and spend 20 or 30 minutes in prayer. Walk around outside of your office or home. Shut off the noise and spend some time listening to God. If there is a decision or a struggle in your life, ask God to give you clarity.

This will be the time when you are most hungry and weak. Each time you are hungry, thank Him for filling you spiritually. Each time you feel weak, thank Him for being the One who truly satisfies (Psalm 63:8).

• The last few hours of the fast are often the most intimate with God and the most clarifying.
• Devote time praying for your personal spiritual health.
• Spend time declaring God’s greatness and thanking Him for all He has done.
• Confess any ongoing struggles or sins you wrestle with.
• Yield to Him. Submit to Him.
• Devote time praying for The Father’s House, your church.

Three Day Fast Examples:

• Esther Fast
Go and gather together all the Jews of Susa and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will do the same.” Esther 4:16 (NLT)

The Esther Fast is for deliverance from the enemy’s plots. Mordecai told Esther that God may have given her the position in the kingdom that she had for the sole purpose of saving the Jewish race (Esther 4:14). She agreed to approach the king, but she asked Mordecai to spread the word to the Jews that they should fast for 3 days without food or drink. She fasted in the same manner. Those 72 hours of fasting changed the history of the world. Thankfully Esther was accepted into the presence of the king and the Jewish people were saved.

• Paul Fast
“For three days he (Paul) didn’t eat or drink and couldn’t see a thing.” Acts 9:9 (TPT)

The Paul fast is for gaining insight and wisdom. It is for those times when we face major decisions. Like Paul, we may feel in the dark, confused and uncertain. During the Saint Paul Fast, we target our choices and decisions.

God promises that when we enter the chosen fast, He will cause His “light [to] break forth like the morning” (Isa. 58:8). If we focus on God’s will and not our own when we are facing major decisions, He will give us the wisdom, perspective and insight we need to make the right choice. One way we focus on Him and His will is through fasting.

3 day Water Fasting 101
Water fasting is not safe for everyone. People who should not fast, or who should seek advice from a medical professional before fasting include older adults, those under 18, and those who:
• have an eating disorder
• are underweight
• are pregnant or breast-feeding
• have heart problems
• have type 1 diabetes
• have uncontrolled migraines
• are undergoing a blood transfusion

Eat fruits and Vegetables AND drink a lot of water with lemon. Also add Lemon to your water during the fast, if possible.

Replace the times you would normally eat with prayer and devotions.
“Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” Joel 2:12

Fasting is great for your spiritual health and for your physical health. You should do this often.

After the water fast, you should resist the urge to eat a big meal. This is because eating a large meal after a fast may cause uncomfortable symptoms. Instead, break your fast with a smoothie or soups. You can start introducing larger meals the second day after the fast as you feel more comfortable.

Make sure you’re having enough fiber so you’re going back to normal bowel movements. If you’re not having 1-2 bowel movements every day you need to see a nutritionist or holistic doctor.

According to two passages in the Bible, Daniel fasted twice. During the first fast, he ate only vegetables and water to set himself apart for God. For a second fast mentioned in a later chapter, Daniel stopped eating meat, wine and other rich foods. You can modify this for our 3 day fasts

We, the Body of Believers at The Father’s House Church, enforce God’s original plan and purposes in our lives and the life of this ministry. We are citizens of the Kingdom of God and we have what we say. We are doers of the word of God and not just hearers only. We are what the word of God says we are, we have what the word of God says we have, and we can do what the word of God says we can do. We hold fast the confession of faith and we do not turn coward, faint, lose heart, or give up!

We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus so guilt, shame and condemnation have no place in our lives. We are God’s chosen generation; His royal priesthood and we are reigning as kings in the earth. We are accepted in the beloved and nothing can separate us from His love. We are sanctified, consecrated and separated from the world.

We are healed of the Lord. Jehovah Rapha has taken sickness and disease away from the midst of us. We have a sound mind and body. We are energized, revitalized, transformed, renewed, restored powerhouses for God. We curse at the root, every sickness, disease, pain, virus and infirmity that would try to attack us and we plead the blood of Jesus over our bodies. The healing power of God continually surrounds us, keeps us and preserves our entire system.

We are redeemed from debt, poverty and lack. Every household of TFH Church is blessed and living under an open heaven. The blessing of the Lord makes us rich and adds no sorrow with it. We are increasing more and more, wealth and riches are in our house. We are the head and not the tail, above only and never beneath, the lender and not the borrower. We are sowing bountifully and reaping a bountiful harvest on every seed sown.

We have strong marriages and families that are knitted together in love and rooted in the Word of God. Wives are submitting to their own husbands as unto the Lord and the husbands love their wives as Christ loves the church. Our youth fear the Lord and obey and honor their parents. We bind every demonic attack against our families and speak life, joy, peace and love over our households.

TFH Church is prospering at everything it sets its hands to. We have great work to accomplish and we command finances and all resources to come forth now without delay. We call in everything prepared for us before the foundation of the world that pertains to our life and the life of this ministry.

The supernatural Word of God is prevailing in every area of our lives. We are fighting the good fight of faith and laying hold to eternal life. We are overcomers and our faith is the victory that overcomes the world. Now thanks be unto God who always causes us to triumph in Christ! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
