Suzanne and her husband Larry, a full time Evangelist/Pastor for 55 years were married for 42 years and moved from Ohio to Florida in 1981. Larry passed March 2014 forever changing her future and after 44 years she took the opportunity to return to school to complete her BA degree in Criminal Justice. Larry and Suzanne were foster parents for 97 children; they adopted 8 special needs children and are birthparents to 4 children. Suzanne presently has 11 grandchildren, with number 12 due October 2016. Presently, she is the legal guardian for her 9 year-old granddaughter, Jalen, a member of Studio 66.
Suzanne began volunteering at The Father’s House Church in 2014 as the receptionist. In September 2015, she was asked to become the Volunteer Coordinator for the Dream Team and January 2016 she became the full time TFH receptionist.
Suzanne has continued her work for the parents and families of Lake and Sumter counties with KIDS Inc. of Lake County Foster, Adoptive, and Relative Caregivers Association since 1991. Continually advocated for the needs of foster, adoptive, relative care parents and their children’s’ support services.
In 2002 she was presented with a Jefferson Award, that Award is often called the “Nobel Prize” for Public Service in America. April 2008, Governor Crist presented her with the Governor’s Points of Light Award.
One of Suzanne’s favorite verses is Romans 8:28,” and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” Once you know your purpose, serving God is easy, because everything is opened to you.
Suzanne enjoys cooking and always encouraging the little ones to assistance.
